Donna Charlene Sargent passed peacefully at home in Jackson, California on November 11, 2023 in the presence of her 3 children.
Donna was born in Peetz Colorado, June 4, 1930 to parents Donald Calland and Adelaide Warrick. Raised mostly by their seamstress mother in the depression age alongside her sister Doris and brother Eugene.
Donna attended and graduated from Hayward High School in 1948. Donna's years at Hayward High were joyous where she made many lifelong friends. It was at Hayward High where she met and eventually married William “Bill” Talbott. They were married in 1950 when Bill joined the army. Donna and Bill set off to create a family where they had 4 children, William Jr, Kathleen, Cynthia, and Robert. Army life instilled, in Donna, a great deal of pride of country, commitment, and sacrifice. Donna made the most of their many tours of duty, always creating a loving home no matter what the circumstances or location. Donna traveled to overseas duty stations that included Austria, France, and Panama.
Donna’s post Army life was filled with hobbies such as gardening, golf and sewing, as well her pride in her 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She had a natural, generational love of gardening & could make anything grow. She loved her many homes, gardens, dogs, cats, and family.
Donna battled and beat cancer as she proved to be a fighter. We would see this never-give-up fighting spirit in her final years as she battled a failing heart and body.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her huge smile and dry sense of humor with a sparkle in her eyes that would always give her away.
Donna will truly be missed.
